Key benefits of the “Coretech BIM Solutions” methodology:
- If the steel fits in the model, it fits in the field (this minimizes human error)
- Once the model has been checked and validated, all shop drawings are generated directly from the model guaranteeing accuracy and compliance
- Model can be shared in digital format with other members of the design team, the contractor or other trades to perform collaborative functions such as clash detection
- The model is essentially a database of “information”, allowing it to be queried in a variety of ways to produce accurate material lists (ABM), piece counts and member status reports
- Throughout the design, fabrication and erection phases of the project, the model is used as a 3D reference and communication tool to better depict and illustrate design and RFI issues
- When the project is complete, the life cycle of the model can be extended by incorporating the final “as- built” model into a “Facilities Management” (FM) model
Technology
- Coretech provides 3D modeling and steel detailing using Tekla Structures (X-steel) software. Tekla Structures software creates an intelligent 3D model of the structure. It features the capability to accurately visualize complex structures and their inter-relationship with architectural, mechanical and electrical project components. The software provides General Arrangement drawings, steel detailing (fabrication drawings) for automated fabrication shops. We provide CNC data to a wide range of post processors compatible with most CNC machines. We can also provide DXF/DWG files with attributes for older plate cutting CNC machines.
